“Frank Ragsdale, proprietor of the 99-Cent Store, is taking one of his regular trips, when he combines business with pleasure. Mr. Ragsdale departed on the electric car early Wednesday morning for Molino. From Molino, he expects to walk to Santa Fe and thence to Paris, spending the night at the latter place. He will walk from Paris to Moberly on Thursday, reaching Mexico late in the afternoon, coming from Moberly on the train. Mr. Ragsdale believes in plenty of exercise and says walking does him more good than anything he can do. He takes these trips frequently and is never ill.”

The late winter storm, which left two inches of snow in Mexico, most of which melted this morning, dumped up to nine inches in some places, mainly in the north. ... Now showing at the Liberty Theatre: Rodger and Hammerstein’s ‘Flower Drum Song.’ A Washington’s Birthday special matinee will show ‘The Cowboy’ with Glenn Ford and Jack Lemmon.”

“The Audrain County Area Genealogical Society met this month at the Mexico-Audrain County Library. Alta Webb introduced Mary Cline, who had the program on Mexico and Audrain County as seen on postcards. She brought part of her collection of postcards, some of which are printed frequently in The Ledger. It is an outstanding collection of homes, buildings and scenes plus novelty postcards. The oldest one is dated 1893. Reminiscences were exchanged and many questions were answered concerning this area.”
The Yesterday In Mexico column is published daily in The Mexico Ledger. An expanded column is published on Fridays.
