After wrestling most of this season at 160 and 152 lbs., Pablo Vasquez beat Kalen Kemp 8-2 at 170 on Thursday to help Mexico defeat Oak Grove 39-28.
The Bulldogs Brit Wilson then pinned Joel Martin at 182 in 2:20 followed by Cameron Fox at 195 besting Oak Grove's Tyler Bradley 10-3 and losing by fall at 220 in 1:52 to Tyler Curd was Wyatt Turner. That put Terrese Aaron is position to get the better of Austin Kemp, which he did 6-0, at 285, Brayan Juarez was defeated 11-5 at 106 by Oak Grove's Keegan Scarborough and at 113 Mexico's Clint Allen was pinned in 1:12.
Oak Grove continued its' run through the lower weight classes when Trent McPherson was downed in 1:05 at 120 by Connor Brown and at 126 Dylan Patton was on the wrong side of an 11-3 major decision against Tanner Pavlica. It wasn't until the Bulldogs' Kevin Duong claimed victory over Evan Hall at 132 in 1:12 that one streak ended and another began, Dillon Nichols at 145 pinned Zach Kroah in 2:00 and Blayne Weiberg won by void at 138.
Mexico's Kellen Ekern at 160 then won by fall over Jacob Pavlica in 2:49 after Vinny Vitale was edged out in sudden victory at 152 by Oak Grove's Noah Sears. Weston Ruhterford also had an exhibition match at 113 for the Bulldogs and lost in 1:34 to Cole MacWilliam.
Mexico was at the Odessa Tournament on Saturday and is competing in a tri-meet on Thursday against Brookfield and Battle.
