Obituary published February 7, 2017 in The Mexico Ledger

On Friday, February 3, 2017, a bright, shiny piece of all of us died. Jared Kernan Monsen, age 34, of Mexico, passed away due to an automobile accident.

Memorial services were held 6:00 PM Monday at the Arnold Funeral Home. Visitation was held from  4:00-6:00 PM Monday at the funeral home.

Jared was born on October 20, 1982, in Satanta, KS, to Emily Singleton and Randall Allan Monsen.

Jared really loved his three kids, his brother, sister, mom, and always wore his trademark grin.

He is survived by his three loving children Ava Rebecca, Harper Belle, and Drake Allan Monsen, all of Montgomery City, and their mother, Erin Hadden; mother, Emily Wiles and stepfather, Kerry Wiles, of Osage Beach. He leaves behind his sister, Bethany Raye Beamer and Pete Hodges of O’Fallon, MO; brother, Brooks Beamer and fiancé Meghan Price of Centralia, MO, sister, Nikki Beauchamp Vomund and husband, Scott of Martinsburg; nephews, Brayden and Clayton, step-mother, Toni Monsen of Mexico; aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, Glyndon and Bertha Singleton; grandmother, Marjorie Wood, a step-grandfather, Robert Wood, grandfather, Harry Monsen; and uncle, Bennett Singleton. Jared followed in his father Randy’s footsteps. Randy, who had recently passed to Heaven, greeted Jared along with other family members.

Jared was a kind and loving man who lived an adventurous life filled with the blessings of his children. He was a friend to everyone and would help others when needed. He was an avid reader, master craftsman who took great pride in his work by learning from his father, and could pour concrete better than his dad. As Jared’s mom wrote- “Please be kind and love one another. Life is snatched far too quickly. Jared will be greatly missed. He lived on the edge with his face up and smiling into the wind. We suspect he is helping his dad build even better roads of gold in Heaven.”

A trust fund is being set up for his three children, and may be sent to Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson, Mexico, MO 65265.
