Meals will be served each day throughout the week
The 57" annual Loafer's Week at the Auxvasse Community Hall will be held February 20-25.
Loafer's Week started 57 years ago on the week of George Washington's birthday. People in the community look forward to this time of year to visit and find out what their relatives, friends and neighbors have been doing all year. The shelling of peanuts and throwing the shells on the floor, card playing, free coffee, and gathering for meals makeup the week.
A noon meal will be served each day by a different organization. Serving time will begin at 11 a.m.
Monday the Boyd & Boyd. Relay for Life Team will be serving Lasagna.
Tuesday the Mexico Go Gitters - Relay for Life will be serving pork loin.
Wednesday the Sons of Confederate Veterans and United Daughters of the Confederacy will be serving ham and beans.
Thursday the Show Me A Cure - Fulton Relay for Life will be serving turkey and dressing.
Friday the North Callaway Senior Center will be serving chili vegetable soup.
Saturday will bring the week to a close with the Auxvasse Lions Club holding its all you can eat pancakes beginning at 8 a.m. and going through the noon meal.
Everyone attending can sign a meal ticket each day for two $25 cash gifts donated by the United Security Bank and car wash tokens donated by PitStop Car Wash in Auxvasse. The Auxvasse Community Hall Association is also having a 50/50 raffle.
