With the gates opening at 9 a.m. and the first session starting an hour later at Mizzou Arena on Thursday, the Mexico varsity wrestling team jumped head first into the class 2 state championship meet.

Once freshmen Brayan Juarez and Kevin Duong lost their initial match for the Bulldogs according to https://twitter.com/mexicowrestlin?lang=en, Brit Wilson, Dillon Nichols, Dylan Patton and Kellen Ekern were victorious in their opening bouts. Senior Cameron Fox also came out ahead on the strength of a late takedown and Wyatt Turner and Terrese Aaron were victorious.

Juarez's season then came to an end when he was edged out 2-1 in his second match of the day.
