Dorotha L. Lankford, 87, of Mexico, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Parkside Manor in Columbia.

Dorotha was born June 15, 1929 in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of Paul and Wilma (Fish) Chasteen. On Oct. 31, 1948 in Bicknell, Indiana, she married Kenneth Ray Lankford. He preceded her in death in 1985.

Mrs. Lankford had worked for Erdel’s Hardware and was a member of Southside Christian Church.

Survivors include two sons, Terence (Deborah) Lankford of Bloomington, Indiana and Paul (Gail) Lankford of Mexico; five grandchildren, Heather (Mike) Malarney of Indianapolis, Indiana, Carrie (Sam) Gutwein of Fisher, Indiana, Zach Lankford of Kansas City, Rhonda (Mike) McGannon of Ashland, and Tyler (MaCall) Lankford of Hallsville; eight great-grandchildren; and one brother, Raymond (Sharon) Chasteen of Port Charlotte, Florida.

In addition to her husband, Dorotha was preceded in death by one son, Charles Bradley Lankford, who died in 1980; and one sister, Joretta Tincher.

Memorial donations may be made to Southside Christian Church or the Alzheimer’s Association. Both may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson, Mexico, MO 65265.

Memorial services in Indiana will be held at a later date.
