Because the prep cross county season is going to be here before you know it, Mexico's John Wilbers and North Callaway's Chad Craghead are looking to take full advantage of every moment they have until then.

While individually these squads have their own summer programs, this week these teams are training with Fulton on Tuesday and Thursday, the first of which took place at the Hornets.

"North Callaway was invited last year, but did not get to go because of scheduling. We run then play games," said Craghead. "Coach Wilbers and Coach Lucas (Mexico) and Coach Yates (Fulton) and I are all really good friends."

Because of last years results the Fulton boys were probably the best of this bunch after finishing third at the 2016 class 3 state meet. The North Callaway girls also gave quite a performance at last seasons championship meet, though, placing eighth for class 2.

"We brought six runners to Fulton on Tuesday. I think Fulton had about 20 and Mexico had about 30," Craghead said.
