New heights reached by Tigers

According to the Missouri State High School Activities Association 67th Baseball Championships Record Book, Wellsville-Middletown's second-place finish this season in the class 1 varsity tournament is the furthest any area team has advanced at this event since records started being kept in 1950. The only other local squad to finish in the top four among the nine schools covered by the Mexico Ledger was Community R-6, which finished third in 2001.
