All this week Mexico varsity wrestling head coach Gayle Adams was with Kellen Ekern and Terrese Aaron as they competed at the AAU Scholastic Duals 2017 District All-Stars in Kissimee, Fl.

In fact, things went so well Adams posted to twitter on Thursday night that:

"Kellen finishes the week 8-2 with his only loss coming to another state champions. (He also sat) out a few duals to allow teammates some mat time."

While both Bulldogs competed as members of the STL Knucklheads for this event, Ekern was in action at both 160 lbs and 170. As for the opposition he faced, it was Matthew Cates of CFWA South Florida Lightning that edged him out 3-1 at 160. Ekern also held his own against Team Ohio Mafia's Ryan Thomas before finally falling 12-7.

Aaron also tore through this field to the tune of a dozen victories over the course of 14 matches, prompting Adams Thursday evening to post to Facebook:

"Terrrese finishes the week 12-2. Great showing out in Florida with very tough competition. Their team got sixth place in a very large and tough All-Star division."

One factor woking in Aaron's favor for these heavyweight grappling bouts was his relentless pace. That's why the matches he won weren't all that close but the ones he lost were. This includes ending up on the wrong end of a 9-8 decision against Mike Wolfgram from team Three Pitbulls and a 5-3 defeat against MAWA Knight Point's Niko Camacho.
