Many observers have argued in the not so distant past that the gridiron talent in Florida is second to none. Some of the best in the entire country, furthermore.

Accordingly, the individuals in attendance at Blue-Grey All-American Combine (Southeast Super) just outside of Daytona Beach (FL) lived up to the hype.

NFL veteran Larry Ryans was the lead instructor and his staff included one-time professionals Arlen Harris, Ken Stills and Patell Troutman, among others.

After a gathering information from the workout, what follows is some much-needed insight on the prospects who left a lasting impression on the coaches.

Wyatt Rector, QB, Leesburg (FL): A Virginia commit, the 6-foot-4 and 220-pound senior was seemingly without peer at his position and will soon play in the brand’s All-American Bowl.

Xeavier Bullock, QB, E.E. Smith (NC): The 6-foot and 180-pound senior has been contacted by teams in the Big South Conference and Colonial Athletic Association.

Charles Strong, RB, Union County (FL): A Florida State commit, the 6-1 and 230-pound senior delivered results and locked up a roster spot in the brand’s All-American Bowl.

McKinley Nelson, RB, Monroe (NC): The 5-11 and 205-pound senior is on the radar of programs in the ACC, and for example, Wake Forest could be a potential destination.

D’Marcus Adams, WR, Mainland (FL): With close to 25 offers, including Missouri, North Carolina and Penn State, the 6-foot and 170-pound senior nearly stole the show here.

Dionte Marks, WR, Deland (FL): The 6-2 and 180-pound junior landed an offer from Oregon not long ago. Arkansas and USC are two of the several others interested in him.

Justin McGriff, TE, Jefferson (FL): A Central Florida commit, the 6-6 and 210-pound senior was in a class of his own at the position, and naturally, a favorite of the signal-callers.

Jeremiah Salaam, DB, Frostproof Senior (FL): The 6-1 and 180-pound senior has close to 20 scholarships already in place, most notably Notre Dame, Ohio State and Oklahoma.

Clayton Harvey, DB, Montgomery County (GA): Georgia Southern and Georgia State are fans of the 5-10 and 180-pound senior and an offer figures to materialize for him.

Thomas Hudson, DB, Butler (GA): The 6-1 and 180-pound junior has plans to visit Georgia. Counterpart Kametou Tarpley of Northwest (OH) also deserved a mention.

Turner Miles, LB, Lakeland Christian (FL): South Florida reached out to the 6-2 and 210-pound senior. That said, his options to play at the next level continue to increase.

Roger Kirby, LB, Valley Head (FL): The 6-3 and 225-pound senior does a little bit of everything. Most of it well, in fact. Only a matter of time before colleges come calling.

Curby Bodden, OL, Seven Rivers Christian (FL): Strong as they come, the 6-2 and 325-pound senior possesses plenty of upside and could land in the Southern Conference.

Steven Auker, OL, Umatilla (FL): The 6-3 and 291-pound senior was a force to be reckon with down in the trenches. Truth be told, he won a majority of the exchanges.

Keldrick Hooks, DL, Deerfield Beach (FL): Akron, Florida Atlantic and Central Florida are a few schools put an scholarship on the table for the 6-4 and 260-pound senior.

Walker Ade, DL, Christ’s Church Academy (FL): Jacksonville was the first to offer the 6-4 and 225-pound senior. Florida Atlantic and Central Florida are also on the mix.

Robert Given, DL, Northgate (GA): The 6-3 and 225-pound senior is an apparent target of both Georgia Southern and Georgia State. Safe to say, he’s in good shape.

Dylan Thomas, DL, Clarke Prep (AL): Good genes run in the family and the 6-1 and 210-pound junior is heading in the right direction, with college being the next step.

Editor’s Note: Those who did well at this workout, in time, could be invited to one of the brand’s All-American Bowls held at NFL stadium and nationally broadcast on ESPN’s family of networks.

The games take place at Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium, Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Raymond James Stadium, Jacksonville Jaguars’ EverBank Field or possibly San Francisco 49ers’ Levi’s Stadium.

Moving forward, the Blue-Grey Football Selection Committee will consider a number of different factors before making an all-important decision on invites to the All-American Bowl.
