Hazel Elizabeth Rodgers, 85 of Mexico died Monday, June 19, 2017 at the New Florence Care Center in New Florence.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Arnold Funeral Home with burial to follow in Benton City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
Elizabeth was born on July 18, 1931 in Dixon, MO the daughter of David Sr., and Hazel Rebecca (Lick) Whitehead.
On November 10, 1951 in Montgomery City, Elizabeth married John Harvey Rodgers and he preceded her in death on August 22, 1999.
Mrs. Rodgers is survived by sons, Steven Rodgers and wife Wanda of Montgomery City, Mark Rodgers of Mexico; grandchildren, Dwayne Rodgers of Mexico, Arlena Dye and husband Jason of Old Monroe, MO, Beth Smith and husband Shawn of Bowling Green; great-grandchildren, Adrianna Dye, Raelyn Smith, Cody Smith, Charlee Moll, Noah Moll; several special nieces.
Along with her husband, John, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, David Whitehead, Jr.
Elizabeth loved God, and reading the bible. She also greatly enjoyed to write, work in the garden, and watch St. Louis Cardinals baseball. She really cared for horses and dogs.
