Columbia, Mo. - Columbia College head track and field coach Tracy Jex has announced the signing of 15 athletes for the 2017-18 season. The class includes seven distance runners that will also compete for the Cougars cross country team in the fall.
Of the 15 athletes, 12 are from the state of Missouri including one from Columbia. The class also includes two incoming freshman from New Mexico and one from Georgia. The group boasts six MSHSAA All-State medalists and two top three finishers. The class also includes one state champion as Sharrod Connor earned the recognition after being a member of the MSHSAA Class 1 4x100 relay team that took first place at the state championship meet.
