Grapplers from all over the country gathered in Tulsa, Ok., June 21-22 for the 2017 Junior Duals Greco-Roman at the Cox Business Center.

This includes Mexico's Kellen Ekern, who competed at 170 lbs and went 3-4 as a member of Team Missouri. Results included 10-0 technical falls over North Dakota Blue's Cade Peterson and Charles Floyd of the Oklahoma Outlaws Blue, Ekern edged out Washington's Ryan Redford 15-14 and at 182 he lost by technical fall to Minnesota Blue's Caden Steffens 13-2.

Ekern was also downed by technical fall against Iowa Red's Ben Sarasin 10-0, Michigan Blue's Lane Allen 14-4 and Oklahona Outlaw Red's Hunter Jump 14-4.

Ekern then competed at the same venue June 23-24 at the 2017 Junior National Duals Freestyle and went 2-3 at 170. Highlights featured Ekern besting Utah Blue's Yair Moran 14-4 and winning by forfeit. The Bulldog also was downed in 1:34 by Tennessee's Christian Salter and Florida's Mikael Fundora in 1:39 and was defeated by technical fall 16-6 against Washington's JJ Dixon.

"On July 19 Kellen Ekern, Dillon Nichols, Kevin Duong and Brit Wilson will compete at Cadet and Juniors Nationals in Fargo, North Dakota," said coach Gayle Adams.
