Season best times for recent North Callaway grad and current William Woods women's track and field program member Jaclyn McMurty include 14.12 in the 100 dash on April 6 at the MSD Invitational and a school record 29.41 in the 200 dash at the Eastern Missouri Conference meet on May 2nd.

According to www.athletic.net, she also came in at 1:06.91 in the 400 dash on April 11 at home at the Thunderbird Invitational and on April 4 at the Bowling Green Mini Medal meet McMurtry teamed with Mackenzie Ausfahl, Elli Eckert and Kallie Jo Lehenbauer to clock in at 58.03 in the 4x100 relay.

"The 4x800 Relay team with Reyna Schmauch, Jaclyn McMurtry, Kyla Bertschinger and Daelyn Schmauch broke the school record at the state meet," said coach Reid Randolph.



On the slate next week

Once the athletic dead period is complete (June 7), the Mexico high school football program has camp from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on June 10-12. The middle school football program also has a camp next week on June 11-13 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. The high school squads are at the Quincy Camp at 4:00 p.m. on June 13th, as well. Tourney on the softball field

As a United States Specialty Sports Association qualifier, the Mid-Summer Classic softball tournament takes place at Mexico Optimist Fields starting July 8 with two pools games. Squads will then play on July 9 in a single-elimination bracket format, this event is for 12U and 10U girls and cost is $345. There's also an eight-team limit per division and brackets will be posted at www.mexicosports.org by 8:00 p.m. the Wednesday prior to the event.
