Lesley Ruth (Brown) Luster passed away on March 12, 2017, at age 73.

Lesley was born on December 19, 1943, in Jefferson City, Missouri, the eldest of four children of William Clyde Brown and Mina Ruth (Caldwell) Brown, and grew up on the Brown family farm near Laddonia, Missouri.  

Lesley graduated in 1961 from Community R-VI High School. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from the University of Missouri. While living in New Mexico, she received a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Eastern New Mexico University. She later received a Masters of Arts in History from Oakland University in Michigan.

During her more than 40-year teaching career, Lesley taught as a college History and English professor, preceded by service as a teacher of elementary and secondary education, and as a college counselor.

 She traveled the world with her family, and former spouse US Air Force Col. (Ret) Marvin W. (Pete) Luster. Lesley’s greatest pleasures and loves were her two children and three grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, history & gardening. She lived in England & India, and traveled throughout Europe & Asia.

Lesley was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her daughter Audrey (Luster)(Doug) Newell, son Peter

Luster, granddaughters Geneva Ruth Newell and Vance Luster; grandson Brennan Luster; brother Phil (Doris) Brown; sisters Beth (Jim) Brown & Jill Brown; aunt Jean (Caldwell) Richmann; aunt Joan (Caldwell)(John) Perry; aunt Margaret Caldwell; and her nieces, cousins and other family and friends.

A service celebrating Lesley's life was held in Poulsbo, Washington on June 24, 2017 during a previously scheduled Caldwell Family Reunion. A proud Missouri family, the Caldwell's enjoyed a long weekend together meeting new babies and in-laws. An astonishing 61 decedents of Ed and Bess (Cleaver) Caldwell, of Perry, MO were in attendance. Caldwell family members came by plane, train, car, RV and ferry; coming from Germany, NY, MA, MD, NC, IL, MI, NE, MO, KS, WA, and CA.
