On July 12th the rosters for the 2017 United States Marine Corps/United States Association of Wrestling Freestyle Nationals on July 14-17 in Fargo, ND., were released at www.teamusa.org. Results for team Missouri included Dillon Nichols, Kellen Ekern and Brit Wilson taking the mat in the Junior Freestyles at 138, 160 and 170 lbs, respectively. Kevin Duong is also listed in the Cadet Freestyle division at 132 lbs.

Youth cheer and football registration

From 11:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. on July 15 registration will be open for the Mexico Optimist Club youth football and cheer squads. Cost will be $55 for those playing tackle football in grades three through six, cheerleaders will be charged $30 each and sign-ups will take place at the Mexico Optimist Baseball Fields under the pavilion. The Missouri Press Foundation is hosting a private party suite on Aug. 10 at Busch Stadium for a donation of $199 starting at 6:15 p.m. Details: 573-449-4167.

 

Panthers gridiron fundraiser

The Centralia Football benefit golf outing takes place July 22 for $150 a team, which includes cart rental and lunch. Registration starts at 8:00 a.m., tee-off takes place at 9:00 a.m. and there will be cash prizes for every flight.
