The 2017 Audrain County 4- H Fair opens tonight at the Audrain County 4-H Fairgrounds.

The fair which is full of activities and exhibits is open to the public.

4-H and FFA members will have various items on display inside the 4-H Center. They will also show their animals throughout the fair, ending with the livestock/ham sale in the livestock complex at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Tonight Fair Royalty will be chosen at 7 p.m. in the pavilion. At 7:30 p.m. the Glory Days Rodeo Company will present the bull ride and barrel bash. Events will include mutton busting, calf riding, pee-wee bull , junior bull and open bull competitions and barrel racing. The night will conclude with the Thunderbirds in concert.

Saturday will begin with a ham breakfast, followed by small animal show, barnyard challenge, barrel race, dog show, rabbit show veggie contest, floriculture show, and more.

Sunday is family day, starting with a pancake and sausage breakfast, followed by church services. The church service will be held in the livestock complex. Shows will include poultry, pony pullers, sheep and goat. A Little Mr. and Mrs. 4-H Fair contest is at 2 p.m. with a baby show at 3 p.m.

Also on Sunday there will be a bicycle rodeo show and pedal tractor pull. There will also be youth activities in the pavilion following the pedal tractor pull.

Monday's activities include swine show, horse show and super farmer contest.

On Tuesday, the last day of the fair, the annual Foundation barbecue dinner will be held in the exhibit hall from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Following the meal, the livestock/ham sale will be held at 6:30 p.m.

The 4-H food stand will be open from 4 to 10 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday; 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday; 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday; and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Also, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, UMKC free health screenings will be held. Screenings will include blood pressure, diabetes and bone density. A pharmacist and student pharmacists will be on site to answer any health related questions.
