Ruby Ridgway of Mexico, may not be considered a dare devil, but she does like doing different things and her age doesn't stop her from having fun.

Ridgway who will be 90 in September recently took a ride with her son, Darren, on his motorcycle. The ride took place in Auxvasse beginning at the home of Ruby Ridgway's daughter Reba Horton.

As her son began to travel on Highway 54, he was going approximately 70 miles an hour. "I wanted to go faster," said his mother.

This isn't the first time Ridgway has ridden on a motorcycle with one of her sons, but it has been many years ago and she was much younger. She said it was a lot of fun even at her age. "I was waving at everybody," she said.

Ruby Ridgway did not know she was going to have the opportunity to ride on the motorcycle. Her children knew about it and surprised her. Her daughter, Brenda Wade, is visiting from Michigan, and witnessed her mother riding on the back of the motorcycle, as did the other children. In addition to Darren, Ridgway has three other sons, Ron, Paul and David.

Riding on a motorcycle at her age runs in the family. Her mother, Cleva Roddy, took a ride when she was 85-86 with David Ridgway.

Ridgway said she is ready to go again. "I'm ready to just jump on it and go," she said.
