At approximately 2:36 a.m. today (Thursday), the Mexico Public Safety Department took a delayed report of a robbery which had occurred around 1:30 a.m.
According to a MPSD press release, the victim reported that he was walking in the 500 block of South Western when four teenagers approached him and demanded he empty his pockets. One of the teenagers was holding what looked like a handgun and they rode away on bicycles after taking a personal item.
At approximately 5:30 a.m., MPSD was called to the 800 block of Trinity in reference to several teenagers waving a gun at passing cars. Responding officers contacted three teenagers in the area but did not locate a gun.
Officers have reason to believe that the same teenagers were involved in both incidents. MPSD is continuing the investigation with the 12th Circuit Court Juvenile Division.
There were no injuries reported from either incident.
