Engaged in a mighty battle
Over the weekend the Missouri Military Academy engaged in Cadet Leader Training 2017. On Saturday this included an early morning trail run, field ball, a game that features aspects of lacrosse, rugby and soccer, and group meals.

Way to show your Tiger Pride, boys
The Wellsville-Middletown R-1 Athletic Boosters posted on Sunday to Facebook, "Representatives of the 17-18 Tiger Baseball Team volunteered their time today to hang the Sponsors' Signs and help tidy up the grounds before the first Tiger Softball home game this Thursday. Volunteers included: Layton Maskey, Wyatt Cassidy, Jacob Hollensteiner, Ben Burton and Cameron Huff. Supervising were Coach Burton, Coach Caldwell and David Hollensteiner. Because of multiple events happening
The Community R-6 Booster Club meeting was postponed until Aug. 28 in the library at 6 p.m.
Because of weather, the varsity softball games featuring Mexico at Hannibal and Centralia at Macon were postponed.
Junior varsity scores
The North Callaway JV volleyball team beat Russelville at home on Monday 25-13, 13-25, 25-7.
Posting 10 digs and three aces was Riley Foster, Emily Korff added seven sets, five digs, two aces and two kills and Maureen Salisbury had seven aces, one dig and a set.
"Set one and three were played by our JV and set two was played by our C team. I am so proud of both teams," said head coach Kayla Peterson. "They have learned so much in the short amount of time we have had so far. I am so excited to see them grow as a team and as individuals this season. Winning our first home game is a great way to start the season."

On Monday the North Callaway JV football team defeated Hermann 36-0 after taking leads of 14-0 in the first and 30-0 at halftime. Rushing nine times for 146 yards, which included scoring jaunts of 46 and 42 yards, was Cody Cash, all of which took place inn the first half. Mason Wortmann then took the field for the Thunderbird's and ran the ball four times for 38 yards and a touchdown. As a team North Callaway passed for seven yards and on Monday they'll play st Wright City.
