SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital – Audrain announced the birth of a baby born during the total solar eclipse.
Michael Jones, MD, delivered a baby girl at 12:47 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 21. OB staff assisting with the labor and delivery were Tami Trabue, RN, and Lessley Armstrong, RN.
Baby Paisley Rae Burts weighed 7 pounds, 12 ounces and born to Tiffany and David Burts of Mexico. They also have a daughter, Mattie.
“We were excited to welcome a baby during the once-in-a-lifetime total eclipse,” said Ashley Curtis, director of Women’s and Children’s Services for the hospital. “This will be a special memory for the family and our staff.”
