Playing in territory that was both unfriendly and unfamiliar at Eastern Missouri Conference rival Bowling Green on Thursday, the Mexico varsity volleyball team found a way to grind out a win in two sets.

"This was not our best performance, but we finished to the end and got the win. Everybody was able to get in throughout the game," said coach Shayla Cox. "We had some big hits here and there and the thing we did best was forced them to make errors. We commanded the floor well. Another big game for Adria Costley at the net and two long runs from Catie Bledsoe at the serving line added to our success tonight. Another team win in the books."

Addison McCoy also had quite a performance for Mexico that was highlighted by an 83 percent kill rate.

The Lady Bulldogs have a North Central Missouri Conference matchup on Monday at Boonville.
