"The heat took a couple runners again, which affects our team score but not our individual. Nichole Martin, Alex Dukes, and Marquis all earned medals in this hilly race," said coach Jon Wilbers. "But not far behind was very notable running by Rosanna McKeown in the girls race and Tom Calaluce in the boys race, who also really gutted it out and showed strength of will and training. Topping the charts was Alex Dukes and Marquis Smith made a comeback after being affected by the heat in Fulton."

"Nichole Martin continues to amaze as she gets stronger and more confident each race, she is learning how to handle tough races with mental and physical toughness," Wilbers said. "Sadly, we did see three runners on our team get brutally effected by the heat and until the whole team is at full strength we won't know how these teams can really do at Conference and District. However, the girls teams is looking particularly strong as a candidate for a NCMC win this year."
