Alma Jean Cox, 90, of Mexico, passed away Monday, September 25, 2017 at Heritage Hall Nursing Center in Centralia.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 1, at the First Christian Church in Mexico. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.

Visitation is Sunday from 1 p.m. until service time at the church.

Alma Jean was born October 20, 1926 in Mexico, the daughter of Cephus and Ruby (Hudson) Lamberson. On April 19, 1947 at the First Christian Church in Centralia, she married John Waller Cox. He preceded her in death on June 3, 2006.

Mrs. Cox was a graduate of Mexico High School and had worked for Dr. Searfoss. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Mexico and loved to sew.

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Ann Holloway and husband, Chuck, of Centralia, and Sheila Searfoss and husband, Larry McClure, of Columbia; five grandchildren, Chris Davis and wife, Heiddi, of Columbia, Melissa Selsor and husband, Devon Kruse, of Columbia, Heather Selsor of Columbia, Erin Hartung and husband, Nate, of Augusta, and Lacey Searfoss and husband, Mike Laue, of Chesterfield; eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, John Waller Cox, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Jared Selsor; and 11 brothers and sisters.

Memorial donations may be made to the First Christian Church or the Alzheimer’s Association. Both may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson, Mexico, MO 65265.
