Little Dixie Fire Protection District Station 3 was dispatched to property of Freddie Freet for a structure fire in the 10000 block of Highway T, Centralia, Missouri at 6:54 p.m. Monday.

Upon arrival firefighters found a single story, single family residence with heavy smoke and fire showing. Fire was attacked and extinguished and performing salvage and overhaul operations.

According to Ken Hoover, Little Dixie Chief the cause of the fire is believed to have been ignited by electric short in the attic area of the residence.

The structure received moderate to heavy fire and smoke damage.

Little Dixie units cleared the scene at 10:39 p.m.

Little Dixie Stations 1 and 3 along with Boone County Fire District Station 10 assisted Station 3 with operations.

Six pieces of fire apparatus and 24 firefighters responded to the emergency.

The owners were home at the time of the alarm.

There were no other damage or injuries.
