Not only did Mexico varsity golfer Emma Chedwick, shown here with head coach Lindsey Yancey, earn All-State recognition recently, but on Tuesday the second day of the Class 1 state meet at Columbia Country Club was cancelled because of weather according to the MSHSAA.org.
That meant Mexico finished fourth as a team with a score of 374, placing them behind Notre Dame (Caoe Girardeau) with 319, Pembroke had a 355 and carding a 358 was John Burroughs. Maryville was also in action and was fifth at 400, Logan-Rogersville had 421, Mt. Vernon posted a 453 and charting a 483 was Macon.
Individually for the Lady Bulldpgs Chedwick was tied for seventh with an 84, Lilly Knipfel was 18th with 89 and Kylah Gore stood was one of four golfers deadlocked in the 22nd spot at 92. Betsy Pascoe also tied for the 66th slot with a mark of 109 and Emma Unger was 90th with 129.
For Paris, Sharon Schoonover shot a 106 to end up in 59th place.
