In a 79-man field on Saturday at Moberly Middle School in Class 3, District 5 competition, Mexico's Alex Dukes posted a time of 16:17.20 to place first.

"Mexico's Alex Dukes battled it out with the best in the district and state, including perennial champions Fulton and Helias," said head coach John Wilbers. "But Alex was able to still pour on more speed and crossed the line first, earning himself the individual district championship. But not to be outdone, fellow senior and team captain Tyler Brandow ran the best race of his season earning a ticket to state and All District honors by crossing the line in seventh place. "
