Wendell A. White, Sr., 76, of Mexico, passed away at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at his home.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Arnold Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.

Visitation is Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Wendell was born January 5, 1941 in Jacksonville, Illinois, the son of Hershel and Marie (Bettis) White. On August 30, 1969 in Clintwood, Virginia, he married Virginia M. Johnson.

Mr. White had worked for Norfolk/Southern Railroad and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Jenny White of the home; his children, Andy (Jackie) White of Mexico, Sean (Tammy) White of Maryland Heights, Ralph “Ed” (Jacque) White of Camden Point, Wendy (Ben) Dixon of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Russell (Linda) White of Mexico; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren;  one sister, Sylvia (Jerry) Miller of Maryville, Illinois; one brother-in-law, Jim McGlothlin of Waverly, Illinois; three sisters-in-law, Janice Banks of Neon, Kentucky, Polly Raleigh of Newport, Tennessee, and Earldeen Howard of Rogersville, Tennessee; and a special family member, Cheri Contario of Millford, Ohio.

Wendell was preceded in death by an infant grandson, Jacob White; two brothers, Kenneth and Stanley White; and one sister, Donna McGlothlin.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, or the Alzheimer’s Association.  All may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson, Mexico, MO  65265.
