"An exciting game to start the season. The team rallied from a 12-3 deficit to get within one only to fall back behind 17-10, but a late second quarter rally left the Bulldogs trailing 19-17 at the half," said coach Keith Louder. "The game stayed close the entire second half with the lead going back and forth. The Bulldogs lead 33-32 when the Warriors hit a jumper from the left side with 37 seconds remaining to gain the lead for good. We got scoring from eight of the 10 players, which shows promise.”

Mexico next hosted Hannibal on Saturday.

"For our first showing of the year, our wrestlers showed a lot of fire and heart. We looked good on our feet with aggressive takedowns," said coach Tony Senor. "It's early but we'll continue to work on position. The wrestlers who had their first match showed a lot progress from the first day of practice. The wrestlers who have some experience also showed improvement from the first day of practice. We had a lot of fun with this meet and are looking to build off of this night."

The Bulldogs next compete Nov. 13 at Eldon with Boonville.
