On Thursday, November 9, 2017 at approximately 10:55 p.m., the Mexico Public Safety Department responded to the 100 block of West Anderson in reference to a disturbance.

According to a press release from MPSD, responding personnel found that Janet M. Kennemore, 38, of Mexico, was in an altercation with her teenage daughter, and during the altercation her daughter had received a minor injury.

Kennemore was arrested for child abuse. She was processed at Mexico Public Safety and taken to the Audrain County Jail to post bond on the offense. The daughter did not require medical treatment and was left in the care of an adult family member until the Missouri Department of Social Services-Children’s Division can look into the matter further.

Citizens are reminded that people arrested/charged with a crime are simply accused of the crime and are to be considered innocent until proven guilty.
