Even though the North Callaway varsity girls basketball team hadn't played an Eastern Missouri Conference game prior to Monday, host Van-Far had already played two and won once.

That on-court experience only meant so much when viewed against Kyla Bertschinger 17 points and Allie Schluetter, who returned from being sick to score 14 for the Ladybirds after both had just been named to the All-Tournament Team at Centralia over the weekend. When you then add the 12 points Kenzie Ausfahl had and Reyna Schmauch's eight rebounds, the Lady Indians simply couldn't keep pace, falling to North Callaway 51-37.

Stepping up for Van-Far was Jayle Jennings with 16 points and Reaghan Case had 14 points.

North Callaway led from the start in this one and was up 13-12 in the first quarter, 29-19 in the second and 43-26 in the third.

North Callaway, 4-2 overall, 1-0 EMO, has a league game at Community R-6 on Friday.

Van-Far, 2-4 overall, 1-2 EMO, is at Monroe City on Dec. 15.
