There now two candidates running for two three-year terms on the Mexico City County.

Vicki Briggs, a former Mexico School Board and Mexico Park Board members, filed Thursday for one of the two seats.

The other council candidate is Mexico Mayor Chris Miller. The seats of Miller and Ron Loesch expire in April.

Nathan Birt, is the only person to file for the three-year term on the Mexico School Board. There are also two openings for school board: Dr. Peter Perll, president of the board, and Beverly Borgeson, vice president.

School board candidates must file at central office; and city council candidates must file in the city clerk's office at city hall.

Filing opened Tuesday, December 12, 2017 and will end at 5 p.m. January 16, 2018 for both entities.
