Now that Jordan Delashmutt's name has been placed along side the list of football players who are now injured and unable to compete for the basketball team, head coach Ross Rosenbaum had even fewer North Callaway varsity wrestlers to take to the Sam Martin Invitational in Plattsburg on Saturday.

On the one hand, that did create a void for the Thunderbird's at 220 lbs. On the other hand, there's not much this season that's been able to stop or even slow down Jadon Henry at 132. That's why it's no surprise he finished first for North Callaway lasy weekend by defeating North Andrew's Drake Eychaner 8-4 in the championship match and Plattsburg's Kade Kennedy 4-2 in the semifinals.

Henry also had three straight wins by pin over Stanberry's Sam Oldam's in 2:35 in the quarterfinals, Maryville's Ashton Coulter in :11 and Summit Christian Academy's Casy Noel in 1:11.

James Haubner at 152 won the seventh place match for the Thunderbird's in 1:05 over Rock Port's Austin Stoner after he beat Stanberry's Rueben Gage 9-6 in Round one. Haubner also lost in the quarterfinals to Kearney's Cody Aebersold in 5:59, consolation round one ther North Callaway grappler fell to Penney's Lane Horinek in 3:59 and in round three he weas defeated by Brookfierld's Khalil Walker in 3:37.

Thre only other North Callaway wrestler to attend this event was Mason Garner and he also finished seventh at 170 because he downed Maryville's Jarrett Paartridge in 3:24, as well Polo's Aaron Latimer in the first round in :21. Garner was bested by technical fall 18-1 in the quarterfinals by Stanberry's John Shanks in 4:55, in consolation round one the Thunderbird lost to Gallatin's Gage Wright in 1:44 and in round two Garner got beat by Lawson's Wyatt Becker by major decision 9-1.

North Callaway is at Tipton on Jan. 23.
