At one point last week the Community R-6 varsity girls basketball team climbed as high as number four in the class 1 rankings, and then along came Paris last Friday for a non Eastern Missouri Conference game.

Even though this was also the Lady Trojans Homecoming night, it was the Lady Coyotes that came out the blocks with authority to take a 16-8 lead at the end of the first quarter. When Tori Hamilton then proved to simply be too much for CR-6 to handle in the post by virtue of 13 points, 15 rebounds, six blocks and two assists, Paris was able to post a 14-8 scoring advantage in the fourth to come out on top 48-43.

Coming through with nine points, one assist, a steal and one rebound for the Lady Coyotes was Grace Peak, scoring eight each were Delaney Miller and Allison Moore and Makayle Fox added six points, 10 boards, one assist and a steal. Mollie Cupp also had four points.

Community R-6 did outscore Paris 13-11 in the second and 14-7 in the third.

The Lady Coyotes, 11-5 overall, 3-1 Lewis and Clark, and the Lady Trojans, 11-3 overall, 6-0 EMO, are at the Sturgeon Tournament this week.
