Even though some teams had to play their district semifinals and finals games back-to-back, the Montgomery County varsity boys basketball team, 20-6 overall, had the good fortune of having several days off after defeating Bowling Green on Feb. 20 in round two.

The problem was so did Christian, 17-9 overall, and it won big in its last game against North Callaway, which meant the Wildcats definitely had their work cut out for them. Montgomery County made a quick transition from one head coach to another this season, though, but all that progress came to a qucik and sudden halt 68-39 on Friday night.

Christian next plays Monroe City on Feb. 28 at 7:45 p.m. at Moberly Area Community College.
