Antioch Baptist

Auxvasse Christian

The Auxvasse Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) has worship service at 9:45 a.m. with the Rev. Heather Patten, Minister. Everyone is welcome to attend. The Rev. Patten’s message will be based on Mark 1:2-39. Psalm 147:1-11, 20c will also be read during the service.

Farber Baptist Church

Jesus Lives, an Easter candlelight musical arranged by Sterling Holbrook and directed by Karen Holbrook, will be presented Sunday, March 25, at 7 p.m. at Farber Baptist Church by the adult choir. Choir members are Karen and Sterling Holbrook, Jerry and Jackie Ostrom, Linda and Tom Prior and Tom Wright. Narrators are Jerry Ostrom and Linda Prior. The devotion will be given by Rev. Jerry Ostrom, pastor of the church. The offering will be donated to the St. John's Food Pantry. The public is invited to attend.

First Christian Church

We are located right next door to the Library. Sunday school for all ages at 9:15 a.m.; Worship at 10:30 a.m. We are a joy-filled, alive, Christ-centered church for all ages. First Presbyterian

Saturday, March 23, the 20th annual Spring Fling will be held from 8:00 am until noon (Fellowship Hall, First Presbyterian Church, 400 Lakeview, Mexico). Silent Auction bidding and breakfast conclude at 11:00 am. Booths remain open until noon. Proceeds go to missions.

March 24, Palm Sunday, Rev. Dick Ramsey will share the message, “The Lord Has Need of It,” based on Psalm 118:1-2; 19-29 and Luke 19: 29-40. Palms will be distributed to everyone, and Kids 4 Christ members will participate in the service.

During Holy Week: The final Lenten Lunch will be held at noon in Fellowship Hall. On Maundy Thursday, March 29, communion will be served in an Upper Room setting with Rev. Ken Jarvis officiating. The drama, “The Road to Calvary,” will be presented and will conclude with three minutes of darkness and silence. On Good Friday, March 30, the church offices will be closed, and the Sr. High Youth will hold a service day.

Lockewood Park Baptist

Lockewood Park Baptist Church invites you to worship with them at 1005 W. Love in Mexico. The worship service will start at 10:40. Pastor Randy Jones will be preaching a sermon titled “The Crucified Christ of Calvary”. The UpStreet children will act out the Life Application of peace from scripture Romans 14:19 that they have learned in March. Plans are being made for our 7:30 Easter service followed by a carry-in breakfast at 8:30. Sunday School is at 9:30. The late service will be held at the regular 10:40 time. We are celebrating His resurrection and His promises.

Sunday School classes for children and youth are in the basement while adult classes are on the first floor. Sunday School starts at 9:30 for all. Children in grades K-5th will attend a special presentation named “UpStreet” which features adults acting out the Bible stories and involving the children.

Rush Hill Community Church worship services begin at 9:00am this Sunday with Bob Stanford giving the message, “Do You Need an Expert?” from Matthew 21: 1-11. Hayden Maddox is the junior worship leader. Sunday School begins at 10:25am with classes available for all ages.

Spring Church clean-up will be held on Saturday March 24th at 9:00am.   Youth Group is this Sunday from 5:00-6:30pm.

Maundy Thursday services will begin at 7:00pm on Thursday, March 29th.  The service will include communion, music and drama with the story of Mary Magdalene and the events leading up to Jesus’ death and resurrection.

Soul's Harbor

South Fork Presbyterian

St. Brendan Catholic

St. Brendan Catholic Church weekend Mass schedule is 5:30 p.m. Saturday and 8 and 10 a.m. Sunday.  Sunday is Palm Sunday commemorating the Lord's entrance into Jerusalem with the Blessing of the Branches and reading of the Gospel for the Procession according to Mark 11:1-10.  The Scripture readings at the Mass will be from the Book of the Prophet Isaiah 50:4-7; a reading from the Letter of Saint Paul to the Philippians 2:6-11 and the reading of The Passion of our Lord Jesus Christ according to Mark 14:1-15:47.  Rev. Mark Porterfield is pastor. Visitors are welcome. 

Stations of the Cross will be held tonight at 7 p.m. in the church preceded by a soup supper at 6 p.m. at the House of Brendan.

The Mass schedule for next week will be at 8 a.m. Monday through Wednesday and also at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.  There will be no Mass on Holy Thursday morning.  Instead, there will be a Mass of the Lord's Supper at 7 p.m.  On Good Friday, there will be no morning Mass.  Stations of the Cross will be held at Noon followed by a movie "The Passion of the Christ" in the Lavern Dowell Parish Hall.  Everyone over the age of 12 is welcome to attend.  The showing will start approximately at 1 p.m. and end at 3 p.m., the time of Our Lord's Death on the Cross.

On Good Friday, there will be a Celebration of the Passion of the Lord at 7 p.m. with the Liturgy of the Word, veneration of the Cross and Holy Communion. There will be no 5:30 p.m. Mass on Holy Saturday, March 31st.  The Easter Vigil Mass celebrating the Resurrection of the Lord will be held at 8 p.m. on Holy Saturday.  At the Easter Vigil Mass, there will be the Blessing of the Fire, Procession, Liturgy of the Word, Celebration of baptism, Blessing of the Water, Communion and Confirmation of the Elect.  The catechumens will be baptized and they and the candidates will be confirmed and receive their First Holy Communion.  A reception will follow the celebration in the Lavern Dowell Parish Hall for those who have been preparing to enter the Church and their families.    

Easter Sunday Masses celebrating the Resurrection of the Lord will be at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m.  Visitors are welcome.  Details: 581-4720. 

 

St. John's Lutheran

On March 31st we are having our annual Easter Event! It starts at 3:00 p.m. There will be an egg hunt, egg decorating, and a bounce house. Everyone is welcome to attend.

We offer a mid-week program for preschool-5th grade students. The program is called Awana. Awana is a fun and exciting opportunity for your child to learn about the Bible. All are welcomed to come and join us. Awana meets every Wednesday from 6-7:45.

St. Matthew's

Services at St. Matthew's Episcopal church begin each Sunday at 10 a.m. Coffee/fellowship hour follows in the Parish Hall. Holy Communion is part of every service and all baptized Christians are welcome at the altar.  Visitors are always welcome.

 

St. Paul CME

Sunday school begins at 9:30 a.m. and church service starts at 10:45 a.m. each Sunday at St. Paul CME Church. Bible study is at noon and 6 p.m. on Wednesdays.

 

Sunrise Christian

On Wednesday at 6 p.m. the youths and Team Kid meet and at 6:30 p.mn. the adults will have prayer and bible study.
