All across Missouri the Show Me State Games have been helping to fulfill the athletic dreams, goals and needs of men and women of every age, race and religion.
Even though there's still more to come, last weekend it was men's soccer that was headlining on the main stage as the Mexico Area Soccer Club was in action June 8-10 in Columbia for a trio of games that ended Sunday with a 6-0 win over Perryville FC. Scoring for Mexico included Haden Frazier, Gage West, Christian McKeown (2) and Dominic Salamone (2).
Last Saturday in game two against Scott Air Force Base Mexico got edged out 1-0 as defenseman Reece West was named Man of the Match. Prior to that in game one last Friday on June 8 former Bulldog team captain Christian McKeown scored twice, yet Mexico was still defeated 4-2 by Arsenal FC in Dominic McKeown's Show Me Games debut.
This is the fifth year the Mexico Area Soccer Club has competed in the Show Me State Games in the Open Men's Division. It's open to new players and has games July 20-22 for high school age boys and girls and on July 27-29 for younger players and co-ed adults.
The roster for this years men's team included Colin Cosby, Dominic Salamone, Rodrigo Perez, Gage West, Reece West, Ryan Shopher, Sam Hobbs, Haden Frazier, Juan Ramirez, Dominic McKeown, Connor Frazier, Tyler Drew, Rory McKeown, Jonah McKeown, Christian McKeown (captain), Ryan Brown (GK), Cristian Vega, Esteban Onate, Jonathan Widney, Francisco Angel, Grady Frazier (GK) and Miguel Vega.
