Harriet Rae (Davis) Weiss, 76 of Mexico, formally of Chicago, passed away on Monday, June 11 in the evening with her daughter Vickie and Billy by her side at Pin Oaks nursing home.

Harriet was born July 7, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of the late Roslyn and Jerome Mehr of Chicago, Illinois.

Harriet was a cosmetologist for 45 years, she had her own salon in Chicago “Snips and Co.” she moved to Mexico 1966 she had her own salon “The Head Hunters”. Harriet won numerous cosmetology awards for her “Beehive” hairstyle in the 1960s and 1970s . She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, weaving, and gardening, and favorite color was purple.

Harriet had two daughters Marcie Davis of Moberly, and Vickie Davis-Barker of Mexico; 5 grandchildren, Matthew and Hailey Olmos both of Los Angeles, David Barker Jr of Mexico, Andy Barker of Troy Illinois and Bridget (Steve) Demerest of Mexico; 8 great grandchildren, Angelina, Hannah, Imogene, Dilyan, Alexis, Garrett , Jason and Jesse. She had one sister Claudia (Jerome) Adams of Henderson, Nevada; 2 nephews, Anthony (Tora, Geno, Rosalina) Ippolito of Pensacola, Florida; Steven Ippolito of Las Vegas, Nevada.

A celebration of her life will be August 11, 2018 at 3:00 at Centennial Baptist Church, Mexico with a carry in dinner.
