Burnham “Bernie” Hogan said he was completely overwhelmed and underprepared for the large turnout at his book signing of his autobiography, “What a Trip,” 11 a.m. Saturday at the Audrain County Library.
“I looked up to see the whole front of library full of people waiting to get their book signed and was astonished,” Hogan said.
Hogan sold out of books in the first half-hour and gave away more than a hundred CD's of his own music. The crowd included Hogan’s friend, David Newbrough, who traveled from Colorado to attend.
“I would like to thank everyone that showed up and apologize to those not able to get books and CDs,” he said. “This was my first book signing as an author, and I learned a lot.”
Another signing has been scheduled for 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Sept. 8.
“I promise to be more prepared this time and will do a reading at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. and maybe even give them a song,” Hogan said.
