On Thursday at Arthur Hills Kylah Gore medaled with an individual score of 40 to help the Mexico varsity girls golf team edge out Southern Boone 195 to 196.

Palmyra also came in with a 204 and Harrisburg rounded out this group at 236. The Lady Bulldogs Lilly Knipfel and Southern Boone's leading golfer tied for the individual runner's up spot by carding a 43, as well.

"Kylah (Gore) was medalist tonight with a really solid round. This was Lilly’s (Knipfel's) first round of golf since being released from her knee surgery and I am so impressed with how she played tonight," said coach Lindsey Yancey. "We were really glad to have her back. We saw some steady improvement from several of the girls with room for improvement still. We are just getting into the season so there is a lot of golf yet to play and we are looking forward to the challenge."

Mexico now has a record of 5-0 on this young season and next heads to Kirksville Country Club for a Tournament.
