Up until just recently the Mexico varsity soccer team had been firing on all cylinders under new head coach William Gleeson.
Perhaps it was the holiday weekend or just maybe it was the return of this intense heat, but eventually all good things come to an end and that's what happened to the Bulldogs win streak on Tuesday when they traveled to Marshall for a North Central Missouri Conference game and ended up getting beat 6-1.
"Diego Vasquez scored the only goal. We played a tough first half, but didn't communicate well in the second and let them score," Gleeson said. "We had several penalties called against us, as well."
Mexico, 3-1 overall, next plays at Battle in a non-league matchup today.
