Having just won themselves a Class 2 district championship, the Missouri Military Academy varsity soccer team, 15-8 overall, had the good fortune to end up with the home field advantage for sectionals on Tuesday against Christian, 14-10 overall.

That was exactly where the good fortune came to a screeching halt for the Fighting Colonels because despite their high-speed offense they still weren't able to get back on defense quick enough to avoid getting beat 6-4. Christian next plays on Saturday against St. Charles West, which defeated Whitfield, 7-13 overall, 3-2 in overtime in sectionals on Oct. 30.
