ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The United States Attorney’s Office announced Friday that Guilebaldo Garcia-Hernandez was indicted for illegal re-entry into the United States, after being arrested in the Audrain County.
Garcia-Hernandez, 40, a resident of Mexico, was indicted by a federal grand jury on one felony count of re-entering the United State after being previously deported. He was arrested by Audrain County Sheriff’s officers on April 16, 2010. If convicted, re-entry of a removed alien carries a maximum penalty of 2 years in prison and/or fines up to $250,000.
This case was investigated by the Audrain County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The charges set forth in an indictment are merely accusations, and each defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
