Mexico’s Annual Fall Cleanup will be held on Saturdays during the month of October.
If your regular trash pickup day is Monday or Thursday, your cleanup day will be Oct. 4. If your regular trash pickup day is Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday, your cleanup day will be Oct. 11.

All items are to be placed at the curb by 6 a.m. on the assigned days.

Please use the following guidelines for your fall cleanup:
• Tires, waste oil or lead acid batteries will not be picked up.
• Any types of insecticides, pesticides, poisons, cleaners, disinfectants, polishes, sharp needles or blood products will not be picked up.
• Antifreeze, transmission/power steering fluids, brake fluids, enamel/oil based paints and thinners/stains/finishes will not be picked up.
• Petroleum products will not be picked up.

Appliances such as refrigerators, stoves, water heaters, microwaves and computers will be picked up. Appliance pickup regulations apply. Please contact the Administrative Services Department at 581-2100 for information.

Bulky items such as boards, plywood, other building materials and similar household refuse such as cardboard, clothes, newspaper, magazines are to be securely tied in bundles. Bundles shall not exceed five feet in length, twenty inches in diameter and not exceed fifty pounds in weight.

Leaves and grass clippings are not to be mixed with normal household waste. The north gate at the Community Maintenance Building located on South Morris Street will be opened from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays. You are to empty your compost and remove your bags.

Waste oil will be accepted at the Community Maintenance Building at 221 S. Morris Street. You may bring your waste oil to the maintenance building on Saturdays, Oct. 4 and Oct. 11 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Wood chips/mulch is available free of charge by calling 581-2100 extension 315 to make an appointment for loading your vehicle.

The City of Mexico Maintenance Department will pick up residential brush and tree limbs by making prior arrangements. Please call 581-2100 to schedule a pickup.

Brush and tree limbs are not to be mixed with normal household waste. All tree limbs and brush are to be bundled in 4’ increments and tied, and if not properly cut and tied, will not be picked up.

To schedule a pickup, you must call the City of Mexico’s Finance Department. These items will be scheduled for a Wednesday pickup. There will not be a charge for this service during Fall Cleanup. Brush and limbs may also be brought to the Community Maintenance Center during weekdays from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
