New Current River visitor station opens in Missouri

SALEM, Mo. (AP) – Parks enthusiasts headed to the Current River for Labor Day weekend can celebrate the grand opening of a new visitors center at the Pulltite Spring campground.
The National Park Service is hosting a grand opening ceremony at 6 p.m. Friday at the campground. The federal agency manages the Ozark National Scenic Riverways, which consists of the Current and Jacks Fork rivers.
The new visitors center includes a children's area, renovated restrooms and more. Park visitors can borrow equipment such as fishing rods and binoculars.
The grand opening event features a performance by the Current River Bluegrass Band. Visitors should bring blankets or lawn chairs.
