Our next hole (hole 14) was a par 3, 174 yarder with the pin tucked on the right side of the top tier of the green. This Par 3 is arguably one of the toughest par 3's on the course where getting par is sometimes a challenge. I was the second to hit and the wind was coming out of the south, which favored my draw ball flight. I grabbed my trusty 7 iron as my weapon of choice. Immediately after striking the ball I knew it was going to be a great shot, how great I did not know! The ball seemed to be in the air FOREVER until it finally came down and hit the green, put the "brakes" on and one-hopped into the hole! This was obviously an amazing feeling and experience and even better I got to share it with my friends Gary Menard, Mike Foster (OU) and Russell Fierge. Our two man scramble team went on to birdie the next 2 out of 3 holes to shoot a 6 under (29)."
Knipfel, Mexico High School boys golf coach, also stated it has taken him 15 years to get a hole in one.
