CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) – Police are investigating another attack on a college student – the fifth in the St. Louis area in the past week.
KSDK-TV reports that the latest crime happened around 12:30 a.m. Monday, and police believe the same man may be responsible for all five. All of the victims were women. Four of the attacks involved robbery and sexual assault.
The crimes have occurred in the Central West End of St. Louis and in nearby Clayton.
In the latest case, a 23-year-old student at the University of Missouri-St. Louis was the victim. Police say she had parked her car less than a block from her apartment when a gunman robbed and sexually assaulted her.
Police from St. Louis, University City, Clayton and Washington University are working together to solve the crimes.
