Marshall Edward Baker, 78, of Mexico, passed away at 9:45 p.m. on Friday, February 23, 2018 at Heritage Hall in Centralia.
Funeral services will be at 12 noon on Wednesday, Feb. 28, at Arnold Funeral Home with Mark Peck officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.
Visitation is Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
Ed was born March 1, 1939 in Molino, the son of Marshall Jefferson and Georgetta (Mayes) Baker. On September 6, 1958 in Mexico, he married Virginia L. Parish.
Mr. Baker worked for the United States Postal Service, retiring as Postmaster in Moberly. He had also farmed with his brothers.
Ed was a member of the UPMA, Hebron Lodge No. 354, Scottish Rite of Columbia, Moolah Shriners, and the Little Dixie Shrine Club. He enjoyed antique airplanes and was a pilot for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Baker of the home; one son, Keith (Dawn Davis) Baker of Olathe, Kansas; one daughter, Kerri (Larry) Brandow of Mexico; one granddaughter, Courtney Baker of Overland Park, Kansas; three brothers, Ronald (Virginia) Baker of Mexico, Lee (Pat) Baker of Pittsburg, Kansas, and Jay (Cindy) Baker of Clinton; two sisters, Motie Bradley of Centralia and Annette Blackaby of Mexico; and one sister-in-law, Donna Parish of Mexico.
Ed was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Heather Brandow; and three brothers-in-law, Robert Bradley, Bill Blackaby and Tanna Parish.
