Ossie “Sonny” Durham, 83, of Mexico passed away on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Heritage Hall in Centralia.

Funeral services will be Friday at 10 A.M. at Arnold Funeral Home in Mexico, MO with burial at East Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5-7 at the funeral home.

Ossie was known by the nickname “Sonny”. The kids are not sure how he got the name but it’s stuck!

Sonny worked at A. P. Green’s and retired in maintenance after 35 plus years. Sonny had many things he enjoyed in life, a few of them were, he enjoyed working on cars and restoring them. He and his wife Elaine loved taking the kids camping and boating, mostly traveled West because Sonny loved the Mountains. Sonny was also active back in the day on the CB radio, going by the handle “leaning tree”.

Survivors include son, Wayne (Jeannie) Durham of Decatur Ill; daughter, Marsha (Dave) Jirsa of St. Louis; daughter, Lynna (Don) Tollett of Mexico, MO; son, Terry (Penny) Durham of Mexico; son, Daniel (Melinda) Durham of Centralia MO. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Sonny was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Elaine Durham.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of Arnold Funeral Home.
