Clara Maxine Wright, 89, of Auxvasse, Mo., passed away at Callaway Community Hospital in Fulton, Mo. on Wednesday, August 25, 2010. She was born March 28, 1921, in Lincoln, Neb., the daughter of the late William Andrew Miller and Ersie Lois (Jordan) Miller. On April 6, 1946, she was united in marriage to Thomas Henry Wright. He preceded her in death.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by one niece, Carla (Doug) West of Mexico, Mo.; several other nieces and nephews and many close friends including, Jerry and Lou Norton of Fulton, Mo. In addition to her parents and husband, one daughter, Teresa Ann Wright, two brothers, Roger and Roy Miller and one sister, Nina Foster, preceded her in death.
Clara and her husband built and operated the Blue Star Motel in Auxvasse, Mo. for many years. She was a devoted member of the Southside Christian Church in Mexico, Mo. and Callaway Christian Church in Fulton, Mo. She was very patriotic, enjoyed helping others and quilting.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton, Mo. with Reverend Mark Kummer officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Maupin Funeral Home.
Interment will be at the Auxvasse Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Callaway Christian Church or Show Me Children’s Home, c/o Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas Boulevard, Fulton, MO 65251.
